Assessed at the end of year 11 with 2 exams based on the whole two year course and field work undertaken in class and on a week long field trip to Barcelona in May. There is no coursework.

2 exams at the end of Year 11 both worth 50%:
1 x 1h 45m exam: Religious Belief and Practice
1 x 1h 45m exam: Religious, Philosophical and Ethical Studies

Each paper is split into 4 sections and at the end of each section there will be an assessment in the style of the exam. (4 per year) The EOYE will reflect this as a paper with three of these sections.

Edexcel GCSE Anthology of Music

Unit 1 Performing Music (30% coursework)

Two performances are required, one solo and one ensemble. Both are assessed by us and moderated by an examiner at Edexcel.
Unit 2 Composing Music (30% coursework)
Two pieces will be submitted from your composition portfolio, which you will have worked on throughout the year and complete in controlled assessment.
Unit 3 Listening and Appraising (40% – exam at end of Year 11)
You will be asked to listen and respond to questions on music from a variety of styles and traditions across four Areas of Study. An examiner from Edexcel marks this paper.

Drama

Practical coursework (60%) – three pieces in Year 10 and two in Year 11. Students must act in all assessments.
All practical work must be completed by December of Year 11 and students are marked on their best pieces in the following three categories: Solo Acting (script) / Group acting (script), Group Devising.

Written Paper (40%) – students sit this paper at the end of Year 11. There are two sections based on pre-release materials which will be sent to centres in December of Year 11. Questions relate to devising on a theme and a studied script. Students answer approx 8 short answers on both as well as one long answer on each of the above.

Practical exams are as follows: Year 10 – Devised work (Feb/March in school time – dates tbc) / Solo script and group script work (June/July to parents in the evening – date tbc).

Year 11 – Devised and either solo or group script work (Nov/Dec in school time – dates tbc)
