On Wednesday 28 September Martin Daubney spoke to Year 12 students from JCG and VCJ about the effects of pornography on the brain. Martin’s session has been introduced as part of the extended Wednesday enrichment programme for sixth form students, which is designed to address some of the important issues facing the girls at this stage of their education and to help them to prepare for life when they leave JCG. Ms Duncan will run a follow-up session with the girls next week to allow them to explore further the issues raised in Martin’s talk.
Martin is an award-winning journalist, editor and broadcaster. He writes for several newspapers and magazines, including the News of the World and the Daily Mail, as well as appearing on television programmes such as Sky News. Following the success of his 2013 Channel 4 documentary ‘Porn on the Brain’ he now also visits schools to educate teenagers on the potential dangers of online pornography and its effects on the relationships that people form.
