BBC Radio Jersey broadcast live from JCG for Children in Need
On Friday 16th November the nation celebrates Children in Need Day. Jersey College for Girls (JCG) are delighted to be hosting BBC Radio Jersey’s Kevin Pamplin show live from JCG on the afternoon of Friday 16th November for Children in Need Day.
As well as Kevin’s usual show content, listeners can look forward to hearing Kevin attempt a list of challenges set for him by JCG Students. Pudsey will of course be making a guest appearance to support Kevin through his gruelling challenges! To whet your appetite a sample of the challenges are: A swim challenge! A group hug on the JCG terrace challenge (the whole college!) A language challenge, a netball/hockey challenge and a science challenge all to raise money for Children in Need! Listeners can also look forward to a musical interlude by JCG’s 6th Form choir singing ‘Lean on me.’
‘We are thrilled to be hosting our first Radio Jersey outside broadcast for Children in Need’ commented Kathy Slater, Vice Principal, JCG. ‘Our house captains and their teams have put together some very innovative challenges and I am sure Kevin will raise a lot of money in attempting them! We look forward to welcoming students and parents to join in the fun and wish everyone a great Children in Need day.’
JCG and JCG Prep students have organised a ‘Non Uniform Spotty Dress Day’ which they hope will raise in the region of £1500+ to kick start the fund raising. The students have also organised a ‘Spotty Cake Sale’ on the day to also increase the Children in Need coffers!
‘There are 6 houses at JCG and they are all passionate about fund raising and serving their community. Children in Need, provides our amazing teams of students with a vehicle to put the fun back into fundraising! We look forward to welcoming the wider JCG family for a ‘fun’draising day here at JCG’ commented Jess Wright, Head of House, JCG.
