Invited Governors

Nick Kershaw


Nick is the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Education charity, Every Child Our Future. He was a member of the working group responsible for establishing a new framework for school evaluation in Jersey and he was a Co-Founder of the Channel Islands Student Business Challenge. He was formerly the Global Managing Partner of Ogier, the international law and fiduciary services firm. He has two daughters both of whom attended JCG. Nick joined the Board of Governors in October 2011. He sits on the Finance & Property and Governance Sub-Committees.

Karen Rankine

Vice Chair

Karen is the managing director of ITV Channel Television. Karen is a JCG old girl and has a daughter and an older son who was educated at JCG and VCJ. Karen joined the Board of Governors in 2004. She is a member of the Admissions Sub-Committee.

Julian Box

Invited Governor

Julian has 30 years’ experience helping organisations streamline operations through the innovative application of technology. He has founded several start-up companies including VirtualizeIT, an award winning technology company as well as co-founded Virtustream Inc., a venture capital backed cloud service provider which raised over $120m in funding from several US-based venture capital institutes and was sold for $1.2B in May 2015.
During the last 6 years Julian has been building his fourth business Calligo a global cloud service provider headquartered in St Helier he also applies his unique expertise as a non-exec to several businesses as well as working with several local schools on their technology roadmaps including creating Jersey’s first set of computer programming clubs through a pilot at four secondary schools.
Along with the above he’s been involved in Digital Jersey’s working group since the beginning of 2012 and became a trustee as part of its legal setup and the Chair of their Education and Skill Technical Action Group. He’s also an active Angel Investor, to date investing in eight businesses, these are based in Jersey, UK, US and Switzerland.
Julian joined the Board of Governors in 2016. He chairs the Finance & Property Sub-Committee, sits on the Safeguarding Sub-Committee and the JCG Foundation.

Tom Dingle

Invited Governor

Tom is a Director of the Arts House Jersey, which is responsible for developing the arts in the Island. He also sits on various groups and panels that promote culture in Jersey. He was educated at VCJ, though did study A-Level Psychology at JCG before taking a degree in English Literature at the University of Exeter. He joined the Board of Governors in October 2013, chairs the Governance Sub-Committee and sits on the Standards Sub-Committee.

Bob Hassell

Invited Governor

Bob is a Director of Vantage-HBA. He is a former President of the Chamber of Commerce and is currently a Trustee of Jersey Heritage. Bob has a degree in Psychology and Sociology and is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development. He has a strong connection with the school having a wife who had teaching connections with JCG for some 34 years and two daughters who successfully completed their primary and secondary education with JCG.
Bob joined the Board of Governors in October 2013 and sits on the Finance & Property and the JCG Foundation.

Dr Bryony Perchard

Invited Governor

Bryony is married and a mother of two (her daughter attends JCG). Amongst other things, Bryony’s job as a GP has given her experience in clinical and financial governance, staffing, performance management and safeguarding. Bryony joined the Board of Governors in October 2014. She chairs the Standards Sub-Committee and is a member of the Safeguarding Sub-Committee.

David Pirouet

Invited Governor

David serves as a non-executive director on the Boards of a number of listed and privately held investment entities and also provides consultancy services. He is a qualified accountant and was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Channel Islands from 1988 until his retirement in 2009. David joined the Board of Governors in October 2011. He sits on the Finance & Property Sub-Committee.

Louise Read

Invited Governor

Louise is a Director of the Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities, responsible for economic regulation of the telecoms, ports (airport, harbour and marinas) and postal sectors in Jersey and the enforcement of competition law. An accountant by background, Louise has extensive experience of managing finance, personnel and operational aspects of business. Louise was previously the Group Financial Accountant at Jersey Post, and worked with many of Jersey’s businesses during her time at PwC. Louise is a Chartered Director, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a BSc in Accounting and Management Sciences from the University of Southampton. She also sits as a Commissioner of the Jersey Appointments Commission and a Member of the States Members Remuneration Review Body. She has a daughter at JCG.

Louise joined the Board of Governors in November 2017 and sits on the Finance & Property Sub-Committee.

Rae Sedel

Invited Governor

Rae Sedel has been a member of Russell Reynolds Associates’ Board of Directors since 2005 having previously served on the firm’s Executive Committee for 13 years leading all of its industry verticals. Rae specialises in board advisory services with a strong international dimension. Her work spans consumer digital, media, entertainment, telecommunications and technology. She conducts Board of Director searches with a particular focus on adding digital expertise and CEO searches which typically target business transformation leaders. She also advises on board effectiveness, board and CEO succession, and executive performance and development. Her clients range from large-cap global telecommunications and technology corporations to private equity owners of pre-IPO e-commerce companies.
Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates in 1987, Rae was with Pacific Telesis as Vice President, Consumer Markets. In that role, she was responsible for a staff of 13,000 and handled more than one billion customer transactions annually through call centres and retail outlets.
Rae joined JCG’s Board of Governors in October 2017 and sits on its Finance & Property and Standards Sub-Committees.

Tracy Wade

Invited Governor

Tracy Wade is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who is now working in private practice in Jersey. Tracy has been practising as a Clinical Psychologist for over 20 years. She began her career in the NHS in England and moved over to Jersey in 1995. She worked there as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and latterly managed Psychology Services as Director of Counselling and Psychotherapy for the States of Jersey Health and Social Services. Her last project before she left in April 2016 was to develop and implement Jersey Talking Therapies (JTT) employing some 15 new members of staff. She is also co-director of a 2-year therapy training course being run in Jersey.

Tracy is a widow and has 2 children; Charlotte who is a corporate lawyer working in London and Jonathan who studying for his A level’s at Victoria College.

Tracy joined the Board of Governors in December 2016. She chairs the Board’s Safeguarding Sub-Committee and is a member of the Admissions Sub-Committee.

Andrew Dobber

Parent Governor

Andy is Head of Compliance and Financial Crime for Santander in Jersey having previously worked for a large international law firm and the Jersey Financial Services Commission. He is a former Treasurer for the JCOA and a former Secretary for STEP in Jersey. He is a Beeches old boy and has two daughters at JCG.

Andy joined the Board of Governors in October 2016 and is a member of the Governance and Standards Sub-Committees.

Louise Follain

Parent Governor

Louise is a married mum of three children, two of who all of who attend JC Prep. Educated locally, Louise is a former deputy head girl of JCG, having studied there for her ‘A’ levels.
Louise has been a director of the corporate services business of Mourant Ozannes since its inception in 2013. She is a qualified Chartered Director; a qualification awarded by the Institute of Directors.
Louise joined the Board of Governors in October 2016 and sits on the Finance & Property and Governance Sub-Committees.

Laura Pérez

Parent Governor

Laura is a mum to two girls, both of who attend the College.

She is a marketing, communications and business change specialist, advising clients on various areas of their businesses, including development plans and how to best communicate with key stakeholders. A strategic thinker, Laura is currently working with the States of Jersey to build a long-term vision for Jersey. She is also an organiser of Jersey Festival of Words, which has a schools’ programme, focusing on inspiring children and encouraging literacy and affords children free access to award-winning authors.

Prior to joining the College’s Board of Governors in October 2016, Laura enjoyed two years as an Invited Governor at Rouge Bouillon School, focusing on safeguarding and wellbeing. Laura sits on the Admissions, Governance and Safeguarding Sub-Committees and the JCG Foundation.

Susanna Harries – JC PREP

Staff Governor

Susanna teaches in Year 1, she is the Faculty Leader for Years 1 and 2, a member of the Senior Leadership team and the Educational Needs Co-ordinator throughout the school. Susanna joined the Board of Governors in October 2014 and is a member of the Safeguarding Sub-Committee.
