Eco Club

This year the roles of Eco Captain and Deputy Captain have been given to us: Grace Nolan and Ella Blampied.

Jersey College for Girls’ Eco Club meets every Tuesday lunchtime to discuss various issues and ideas that the school can put into place to ensure that we fulfil our environmental responsibilities.
JCG has already won various awards such as the Eco Schools Gold and Silver Award and the Eco Active Sustainable Schools Award. JCG was pleased to be the first secondary school in Jersey to be awarded Green Flag status.
We are delighted with these achievements and hope to continue with the positive work that has been done so far. This year, we hope to get the whole school involved by incorporating eco into more house events and creating more eco-activities outside of eco-club to encourage all students to think about the impact they can have as individuals in relation to the environment.
We want to involve the students much more and our efforts will be focused on making College more eco-friendly by promoting an enthusiastic, eco-active attitude. We plan to help the local community by continuing to participate in beach cleans and continue the tin can recycling competition.
We are very excited about our roles as Eco-Captains and hope that all students share our enthusiasm for the year ahead.
